Wool is primarily obtained by using Shears on Sheep.

The Wool blocks obtained will naturally match the color of the Sheep it was sheared from.

After a Sheep has been shorn, players will have to wait for the Sheep to eat grass before they can regrow their wool. Make sure the Sheep has access to grass so that you can shear it indefinitely.

In the absence of Sheep, wool may also be crafted from String.

This can be a useful alternative of obtaining Wool, since Spiders can be found anywhere and have the chance to drop String when slain.

Any Wool obtained can also be dyed to change its color. While this can be useful to obtain small amounts of colored wool, it is far more efficient to dye a sheep directly instead.
